Travis® EXPANDS RENDERING INDUSTRY OFFERING
Travis® Body and Trailer, Inc. unveiled its all-new TOTE DUMPER at the National Rendering Association’s 71st annual convention in New Orleans this October. Travis® has been manufacturing offal trailers for the rendering industry for over 10 years. With input and improvement ideas from users of other Tote-type dumps, Travis® is now releasing its new trailer for full production. The new trailer incorporates several design features new to the industry, designed to enhance aerodynamics, improving fuel economy, increase payload, lighten the trailer, and improve ease of operation and maintenance. These features include: the new aerodynamic Wave body style, the light-weight aluminum I-beam frame, the all aluminum Tote bucket that reaches further into the trailer, the optional (2) auxiliary, lightweight suspensions that increase the legal payload in most states to 80,000 lbs., and the standard radio-remote controlled bucket operation.
The body is based on the all new Wave smooth side design. The Wave line of trailers features highly polished, extruded aluminum, dual-walled, smooth sided design, which adds strength, without adding weight. The Wave extruded wall sections are full-length longitudinals, and are solid welded inside and out. These panels are 12” tall each, or a combination of 12” and 6”, depending on side height, and are approximately 3” deep, inside to outside.
- The Wave represents the combination of features and benefits of the Classic, post-sided trailers, and the best parts of all of our smooth sided trailers. Its hollow-wall allows for optional insulation to be added to reduce the likelihood of freezing loads,
- It offers the dramatic aerodynamic benefit of the smooth sided trailer, increasing fuel economy by as much as 15%, or more, with even more strength than a post-sided trailer.
- The 15” aluminum I-beam frame saves over 750 lbs versus a typical 16” steel frame;
- The aluminum bucket is hundreds of pounds lighter than the competitions steel bucket, and it never rusts or needs paint.
- The radio remote control is standard equipment; it is much safer, and it increases operator effectiveness. Others charge over $3000 for this feature.
- The new CAD designed steel arms, hinge and cylinders lift almost three times the weight capacity of others, and reach much further into the body for a more evenly distributed load.
- The (2) optional auxiliary T-lite suspensions add legal hauling capacity, increasing payloads by 7000lbs., compared to the typical tandem axle trailer, and
- The Travis® 4-axle Tote Dumper still weighs in less than 15000lbs, well below the common 2-axle steel framed trailer offered by others.
Travis® offers the Wave design as a frameless, quarter-frame, or frame-type end dump, or as a bottom dump, a dump body, and now, as the Tote Dumper.
Travis® Body & Trailer is a leading national manufacturer of aluminum end dumps, transfer trailers, and aluminum bottom dumps.
